Dr. Martens - Spirit Of Buffalo

Working with Dr. Martens on F/W 2015 we pay homage to the "Buffalo" style — a style revolution that began in London in the '80s. More than just a way of dressing, Buffalo, which is credited to stylist Ray Petri and photographer Jamie Morgan, was both a rejection and antidote to the mundane conformity of the power-shouldered, gilt-chain fashion and look of the decade.

Characterised by a pastiche of influences — ranging from Parisian high fashion and military uniforms to sports gear and tribal costumes — the Buffalo style came to life once again in the British footwear brand's seasonal collection.

We worked in collaboration with legendary photographer Jamie Morgan and artist Barry Kamen on a series of photographs that modernised the Buffalo look, to coincide with the release of a wide variety of seasonal footwear that spanned across three trend stories: Monochrome, Tech Luxe and Hobo.

In addition, we released a short film giving context and understanding as to what the Buffalo lifestyle fought and stood for. The work was featured across all major UK fashion publications including DAZED and I-D.
