Assembly Label | Creating Change - How We Work
The fashion industry is one of the largest, most resource intensive industries. It is a powerful engine for global growth and development, but the current model is pushing the earth beyond its planetary boundaries and challenging social justice. The industry accounts for 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, 20% of industrial water pollution globally and workers face issues such as hazardous environment and low wages.
Assembly Label considers itself a responsible brand at the core of driving comprehensive change, increasing the fashion industry’s sustainability performance across the value chain with circularity as a strategic priority.
As Head Of Marketing at Assembly Label I was tasked with the brief to communicate the Assembly Label’s transparency and circularity strategy to the customer realising the brand vision. Working with the board and key
stakeholders across the business we developed fact-based informational pages to accompany the launch of Re-Worn, a take-back program designed to extend the life of Assembly Label clothing and support a circular economy.
The objective of the pages is to guide and inform the customer by demystifying the complexities of How We Work as a brand, communicating the design ethos and value proposition - to balance outstanding quality with good value, with styles and materials designed to endure.
The supplier content for the pages was captured across China on-site at the factories and the landscape imagery was photographed by Woody Gooch an artist widely known for framing his focal subject with the natural world around it—adding a visual depth you won’t find in run-of-the-mill photography today.
